A Tapestry of Culture: The Story of Saretta Fielding
Meet Saretta Fielding, the heart and soul behind Saretta Art & Design. Hailing from the Wonnarua and Anaiwan Nations, Saretta’s life is a rich tapestry woven with Culture, Community, and Country. Her art is not just a visual feast but a narrative of her heritage, deeply influenced by the stories and values passed down through generations. "Growing up, the best moments were those spent with Mob, listening to the Elder's tales that have now become the essence of my art" says Saretta.
Nestled on the serene shores of Lake Macquarie, Saretta Art & Design finds its home on Awabakal Country. It’s here that Saretta’s creativity blossoms, inspired by the natural beauty and the traditional sand engravings of her ancestors.
Art That Speaks: The Saretta Signature
Her art is a dialogue between the past and the present, featuring vibrant, captivating and unique designs. “My art is a bridge between generations, carrying the legacy of my ancestors into the future" are reflective in style to many traditional sand engravings found throughout Wonnarua country,” Saretta explains. From cushions to kaftans, each piece tells a story, inviting you to be part of the narrative.
Saretta’s favourite product? “My favourite product is our cushions,” Saretta admits. They’re not just comfy; they’re a canvas for her art, transforming homes and outdoor spaces with over 40 designs that each have a tale to tell.
