Our ‘why’ and its importance

At Stockland, we imagine a future where all Australians are united by our shared respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People and their Elders. Where our people, our partners and key stakeholders appreciate the rich cultural values and ongoing connection to Country our First Nations Peoples inherently possess. Where we build meaningful relationships with First Nation's communities, partnering with First Nations businesses, increasing First Nations participation through employment and economic development and celebrating First Nations culture through our approach to designing with and for Country.

Rap Artist

Our RAP in action

Stockland is committed to be a reconciliation organisation. Our fourth Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) was launched in early 2024 in partnership with Reconciliation Action Australia. In 2014 we launched our Reflect RAP as our first formal commitment on our Reconciliation journey. We have learned a lot since then, and we will continue our learning to ensure we provide meaningful opportunities.

Our National Indigenous Engagement Team was established in 2022 to develop, design and execute our Stockland’s First Nations Strategy 2022-2025, which includes focus on supporting indigenous employment, procurement, enhancing economic development, increasing our cultural learning, increasing our cultural capability, designing with Country and supporting cultural heritage & land management. We take pride in acknowledging, embracing, and recognising the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Australia's First Nations peoples.
